Prism AI (Indian Kanoon) Review (2026): Pricing, Features, Pros & Cons

Our verdict

Prism AI puts conversational search over Indian Kanoon's 30M+ judgments, and its ₹0 plan includes every feature — only credits and downloads are capped. The catch is that the credit allowances are never published as actual numbers.

About Prism AI (Indian Kanoon)

Prism AI is the AI layer over Indian Kanoon, the free judgment database most Indian lawyers already use, and it sits on a corpus of more than 30 million documents. That corpus is the reason to take it seriously: it is the most widely cited collection of Indian judgments available, and Prism searches it conversationally rather than by keyword.

The feature list is unusually broad and openly aimed at students as much as practitioners — Know Your Kanoon, chat with a document, DocGen Hub for drafting, comparison and review, upload-and-chat, a Counter Argument Generator, a Moot Court Simulation and a Study Buddy. There are also court-copy downloads, query alerts and note-taking.

The pricing is the most generous here. Free is ₹0 a year, Premium ₹5,000 a year plus 18% GST, and Pro ₹15,000 a year plus 18% GST, with monthly, quarterly and half-yearly options as well. What matters is that every Prism AI feature is available on every plan including Free — the tiers differ only on credits, storage, court-copy downloads and query alerts. The free plan includes 25 court-copy downloads a month and two query alerts. At roughly ₹417 a month, Premium is the cheapest paid entry of any tool on this page.

Two things to be straight about. The free plan's AI allowance is described only as "a few Prism credits" and the paid tiers only as "20×" and "100×" the free amount — the vendor never publishes an absolute number anywhere, so you cannot work out what you are buying before you buy it. We have not estimated it.

Second, one feature deserves scepticism. "Case Predict AI" is an outcome-prediction claim with no published accuracy methodology. Treat it as experimental rather than as a basis for advising a client, and understand that no tool can reliably predict how a bench will decide. The rest of the product is solid, India-only, and the free tier alone makes it worth installing alongside whatever else you use.
