Niyam.ai Review (2026): Pricing, Features, Pros & Cons
Our verdict
Niyam.ai is built around the two things that make legal AI trustworthy: inline citations to the primary source, and good-law checking on every cited case. Every feature is on every plan from ₹1,500 a month, with credits as the only difference.

About Niyam.ai
Niyam.ai does AI legal research grounded in Indian statutes and judgments, and its two defining choices are both about trust. Every answer carries inline citations to the primary source, and every cited case is checked for whether it is still good law. Those are the two failure modes that make generative AI dangerous in legal work, and Niyam addresses both on every response rather than as a premium feature.
It also drafts — contracts, legal notices, demand drafts — and translates documents across Indian languages, which is a genuinely India-specific capability when a High Court matter moves to the Supreme Court and the record needs translating.
The pricing structure is the best-designed of any tool here. Advocate is ₹1,500 a month or ₹15,000 a year, Professional ₹3,000 a month or ₹30,000 a year, and Firm ₹5,000 a month or ₹50,000 a year, each annual plan giving two months free. Crucially, every capability is on every plan — the tiers differ only in monthly credits, at 1,800, 4,600 and 10,000. Nothing is feature-gated, so a solo practitioner gets the same tool as a firm with a smaller allowance. Annual plans release the year's credits up front. The vendor states plainly that there are no US-dollar charges.
The trade-off is credit metering. Credits are ₹100 for 100, the vendor puts 200 credits at roughly 30 to 60 research questions, and unused plan credits do not roll over month to month. That makes your real monthly cost less predictable than a flat-rate rival like BharatLaw, and it means a quiet month is money lost. The trial is also short: ₹100 for three days and 200 credits, with the ₹100 held and refunded automatically, and a card is required.
Two further limits. It is India-only, so there is no foreign law. And it is a small company with little independent review history, so there is less third-party scrutiny than you would get with an established vendor. On data handling it states that your material is never sold and never used to train public models.
