Beatoven.ai Review (2026): Pricing, Features, Pros & Cons
Our verdict
Beatoven.ai is Fairly Trained certified — training data licensed, musicians paid — while rivals fight that question in court, and claims 2 million creators and 15 million tracks. But it keeps ownership of the tracks, bars uploading them to Spotify, and publishes no prices.

About Beatoven.ai
Beatoven.ai generates background music and sound effects from a text prompt, through products it calls maestro Music and maestro Sound Effects, with MP3 and WAV download.
Its real distinction is not the audio. It is that Beatoven holds Fairly Trained certification, an independent mark awarded to generative models whose training data was licensed with the rights-holders compensated. That matters right now because the biggest names in AI music are disputing exactly this point in court. If you are a brand, an agency, or anyone who would struggle to explain using a model trained on scraped recordings, provenance is a commercial consideration and not just an ethical one. Beatoven is run by Beatoven Private Limited and says over two million creators have generated more than fifteen million tracks.
Read the licence carefully before committing, because it is more restrictive than the competition. You get a non-exclusive perpetual licence to the track and can monetise video or audio content with it — podcasts, talk shows, audiobooks. But Beatoven states it "will still be the owners of the tracks generated", and you cannot upload the music to Spotify or similar streaming platforms. Soundraw, by contrast, explicitly permits streaming distribution and royalty retention at $5.99 a month. So for a podcast or a YouTube channel Beatoven works fine; for releasing music as music, it does not.
Pricing is not published. The site says you can pay per track or subscribe for additional download minutes, without naming a figure, so you cannot compare it on cost against the rest of this category without signing up.
Choose it when the provenance of the training data is something you need to be able to defend, and when your use is background scoring rather than distribution. Choose Soundraw instead if you need streaming rights, or AIVA if you want to edit the composition.

Frequently asked questions
What does Fairly Trained certification mean?+
It is an independent certification for generative models trained on licensed data, where rights-holders were compensated rather than having their work scraped. Beatoven holds it, which is the clearest provenance claim in this category.
Can I release Beatoven.ai music on Spotify?+
No. Beatoven's licence covers monetised video and audio content such as podcasts and audiobooks, but explicitly excludes uploading the music to Spotify and similar streaming platforms, and states Beatoven remains the owner of the tracks.
How much does Beatoven.ai cost?+
It does not publish prices. The site offers paying per track or subscribing for extra download minutes without naming figures, so you will need to sign up to find out.
