"Suno vs elevenlabs" is a question about music from people who have noticed ElevenLabs now makes it. Suno is a song generator: lyrics, vocals, a full track from a sentence. ElevenLabs is a voice platform that added music to the menu. Which is right depends on whether music is the job or one of the jobs.
What each one is
Suno generates complete songs with vocals from a text prompt, and is, per our review, the only major AI music tool you can still download finished tracks from. Our review rates it 4.2 and calls it the fastest way from prompt to song.
ElevenLabs is a voice platform: text-to-speech with the most natural narration we review, instant and professional voice cloning, a Dubbing Studio, Voice Isolator, and music generation. Our review rates it 4.7 and makes it our top pick for AI voice quality.
Price
Suno, per its pricing page: Free with 50 credits a day, no downloads and no commercial rights, on its free models; Pro at $8 a month with 2,500 credits, 20 downloads a month, commercial use and its advanced models; Premier at $24 with 10,000 credits and 60 downloads. Yearly billing saves $24 and $72 respectively. Included credits do not carry over; purchased top-ups do not expire.
ElevenLabs, per its pricing page: Free with 10,000 credits a month, no commercial licence; Starter at $6 a month, annual billing equal to ten months, with 30,000 credits, a commercial licence and music commercial use; Creator at $22 with 121,000 credits. Music costs 900 credits a minute.
Songs
Suno's output is a song: structure, lyrics, a singer, a mix. Its advanced models are on paid plans, and our review notes stems on higher tiers so a track can be mixed properly. The licensing deal with Warner Music, with artist consent sought for voice and likeness, is a sign of where it is heading. The lawsuits from Universal and Sony, over tens of thousands of recordings, are the other sign, and our review lists them as the caveat.
ElevenLabs' music is competent and included, but it is a feature inside a voice product. For a jingle under a podcast intro it is convenient; for a song people will listen to on its own, Suno.
Everything else
ElevenLabs' core is narration, cloning and dubbing, and those are category-leading in our review. A creator who needs a voiceover, a dubbed version and a music bed gets all three from one $6 plan. Suno makes none of them.
Free tiers
Suno's free plan lets you make songs you cannot download and cannot use commercially, which our review calls giving you nothing you can keep; it is a demo. ElevenLabs' free plan produces audio you can download, about ten minutes of speech a month, but without a commercial licence. For testing, both work; for free production, neither.
Credits
Suno meters per song with downloads capped per month. ElevenLabs meters per character for speech and 900 credits a minute for music, so 30,000 Starter credits is about 33 minutes of music if spent on nothing else. The two are comparable for light music use; Suno's dedicated allowance goes further for heavy use.
Where each one is weak
Our Suno review's caveats: a free plan with nothing to keep, active lawsuits from major labels, and credits that expire monthly. Our ElevenLabs review's: no commercial licence on Free, per-character pricing that makes long scripts cost more than they look, and professional cloning gated to Creator.
Vocals, cloning and consent
Suno's advanced models sing: lyrics in, a vocalist out, in a style you name. Its deal with Warner Music, with artist consent sought for voice and likeness, is the industry's first sign of a licensed path for that. ElevenLabs clones speaking voices under a policy that requires the voice to be your own, which our review calls strict and well documented; it does not offer a sung clone of a named artist. For original songs, Suno; for your own voice reading a script over them, ElevenLabs.
Downloads and ownership
Suno's paid plans cap downloads, 20 a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, and grant commercial rights to what you download. ElevenLabs' outputs download without a cap, within credits, and the commercial licence from Starter covers speech and music alike. For a creator who needs many short tracks a month, ElevenLabs' uncapped downloads can matter more than Suno's better songs.
Re-check before you buy
Both pricing pages were read on 12 October 2026. Suno's lists annual savings rather than annual totals; ElevenLabs' describes annual billing as ten months' price and shows a limited-time Starter offer. Both change credit rules often.
